Get to Know the Faces behind Bats Underground
Bats Underground is a fledgling organisation coming to the forefront in 2023, but we've been growing and evolving since 2016. We started off small scale, building those connections within the local Derbyshire based cavers and bat conservationists. Once we received a welcomed reception, things moved onto offering training for cavers on basic bat identification and how to best behave if bats were encountered underground. Then we progressed to talking things wider throughout the UK. In 2019 we joined forces with the Matienzo Caves Project out in Spain to start building an idea of how bats use the underground sites out there.
